I found the 120 hour combined course to be just what I was looking for. I was impressed by the amount of knowledge you can gain from both the classroom and online part of the course. I felt the classroom part provided me with a good understanding of how to plan a lesson and gave us the opportunity to practice doing this. I enjoyed the interaction and the environment was relaxed. The modules provided a good foundation in each topic and lots of relevant links. The feedback on the assignments at the end took only 3 days and the comments were really useful. Overall I would highly recommend the course

I would highly recommend the Tefl Academy course to anyone. As a qualified teacher in a different specialist subject to English I went into the 20 hour weekend course not sure what to expect. Not only did the weekend refresh my memory on grammar but has also helped me to include more English in my own teaching. I have just recently passed the course modules which were all highly detailed with prompt clear feedback given after each submission. The course could do with some content on the use of equality and diversity but apart from that everything was well organised and has introduced me to different ways of planning my class sessions. I look forward to using the qualification when I fly to Vietnam to teach and travel in late April.

After completing by 120hr course I am now working freelance in Prague with three language companies and teaching privately. It has provided the foundation for beginning to teach English language.

When applying for a job at a language school you must give a demo lesson and after completing my 120hr course I felt that I was able to do this using everything I had learned.

The course covered all the core principles needed to begin teaching, though I’d recommend ( as the course also does) further research into each topic/ module.

The 20 hours classroom teaching was intense but enjoyable, and my teacher demonstrated what a great teacher is and what a great lesson should be. He led by example.

The feedback from the online modules was received very quickly, no longer than 3 days for all modules.

I did the online 120 hours course which is enough to get a good job in japan!/Korea if you have the experience. The course provides a great overview of what you need to know to be an efl teacher and the feedback on assignments is detailed and helpful. It’s also interesting to read about the different styles and theories of teaching a foreign language and think about how you can apply different techniques to your own style.

I found the 120 TEFL course to be invaluable. The fact that my tutor Joe had a wealth of experience teaching all over the world did help. The classroom aspect of the course was very interesting and entertaining and I found it to be a very useful introduction into the 100 hour online part of the course.

Joe’s experience meant that he was very knowledgeable and therefore was expert in not only teaching us the content, but also in answering any questions that came up.

The only negative I would add is that Joe was unfortunately ill on the 2nd day which meant we had to finish early. However, he had completed the teaching aspect of the course so I don’t think it affected us too much.

The online aspect of the course was also very interesting and informative. I found it very useful as I have only had limited exposure to English Language or a foreign language. Moreover, I felt that the multiple choice questions were not too easy or hard – just right. Although I am hoping to go abroad to teach English, I am glad to have done this course even if I decide not to go. There was so much useful information to equip you with language knowledge and tools in whatever you do.

The only negative I would add is the wait after submitted my first assignment but this can be excused as it was just after Christmas. All in all, I thoroughly recommend this course.

The TEFL course was simple, quick and effective It was just what i needed. Throughout the two days in the classroom i learnt a variety of teaching techniques and an understanding of exactly what would be expected of me on a teaching placement from beginners to advanced and a range of age groups. The 100 hours on the website was also easy to access and understand. Each module taught me in depth about a different subject which would be beneficial and I enjoyed each of them. The assignments were clearly explained and relevant to what we had been learning in the previous modules, and i understood what was expected of me in each one. Through learning how to plan lessons I have gain confidence and understanding of what I will need to do when on a teaching placement therefore, will not be thrown in at the deep end. Through the revision for the online grammar test I learnt a great understanding of the English language which will be beneficial in life not just teaching. The feedback from my assignments was helpful and informative letting me now how I could further my work. Overall an extremely easy, effective and rewarding course.

This is a brilliant course which I would recommend to anyone. I had no experience in writing lesson plans or schemes of work before this course but the online resources are fantastic giving you all the information you need with helpful examples and really useful feedback.

The classroom element sets you up really well for the online course too and the instructor was fantastic!

So happy that I did this course with the TEFL Academy, they were great value for money and I’m currently waiting to head out to China next month to teach English!!

I would highly recommend this course, if you are thinking of going into teaching this is the perfect course to do. the course contents are beneficial as they cover practical as well, the 20 hour teaching helps you decide if teaching is the right job for you as it implements real teaching presentations. the recourses provided within the course are really good as they cover all aspects of teaching.

I have been teaching for some 20 odd years now and always fancied trying TEFL. I booked the 120 hour course not quite knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by the competence and knowledge of the instructor. I picked up a couple of ideas which I have since used effectively in class. I enjoyed the written assignments although I found the marking a bit quirky objecting to being criticised for being slightly over the word count in one case and for using bullet points in another! Although my grammar is pretty good I found the on-line test a bit daunting. I would have preferred some practice on the type of questions that would come up – because of this I rushed through the test and completed in 2 minutes rather than pacing myself and being accurate. All in all, I have enjoyed working with the TEFL academy and would like to thank them for their encouragement and support.

I can’t rate job placement yet as I have not used it.
