Overall I really enjoyed the classroom part of the course and the online modules. The tutors were efficient and provided detailed, constructive feedback. The course coordinators were also very helpful and responded swiftly to my queries. At the beginning I found it challenging to motivate myself to even start the online modules. However, once I got started, I found myself having fun, being creative, and enjoying the work. The course content is varied and provides a broad overview of teaching. You have the freedom to be creative and come up with different ways to execute your lessons. Once I got started, I was able to complete all the modules in less than 3 months. I was working full time and also planned a few holidays where I didn’t work on the modules at all. You can still have a life and complete the 100 hours online in a decent amount of time. One aspect of the course that could be improved is the opportunity to practice teaching. I haven’t practised at all, yet I am starting to apply for jobs as a teacher. It feels quite daunting. More opportunities to practice teaching would be really helpful for up and coming EFL teachers.

I have recently completed the 120 hour TEFL course and have been super happy with everything. The weekend introduction course was very motivational and the teacher was very competent and just great.

The online course material was really thorough and easy to understand. I always knew what the assignments needed to contain, and how to complete them. The material is up to date and it is always easy to get in touch with The TEFL academy for any questions.

There was never any problems uploading the assignments and I would get a marked reply within 72 hours in almost every assignment.

The only thing I might have wished was that I had been informed that most schools will only accept EFL teachers who have a degree in teaching. I will though strongly recommend The TEFL academy, and I can inform that I have found a great job as an English teacher that I am very happy with, and I wish any new EFL teachers the best of luck finding their dream job!

I chose the TEFL Academy because it looked professional from the outset, had excellent reviews and provided a universally accredited programme. I was impressed by the tutor over the weekend, Corin Patterson, and then entered the on-line part of the course.

Once again, I was impressed. The course was well documented, highly challenging and it was always interesting to receive feedback which was given in a very timely and sympathetic (but not necessarily easy-going!) way.

Finishing the course felt like a great achievement which would prepare me for EFL teaching.

I am pleased to have completed this course and would definitely recommend it to others.

Overall the course was good and i have enjoyed the challenge, the tutors were a pleasure to have contact with and it covered all areas as well as can be expected. Feed back was a great help as it showed the areas that i needed to work on. Finding a job is not that easy but then it never is, as most of the jobs out there states that you need a Degree. Having the Lesson plan templates made things so much easier to work on the lessons.

I strongly recommend this course to anyone hoping to teach English abroad. I personally did the 120 hour course which consisted of a 20 hours weekend course, followed by 100 hours online. The weekend course was excellent, packed full of information, allowing all course-takers to gain knowledge, experience and confidence in teaching in front of a class. I made life-long friends there with whom I’ve been able to share my experiences of teaching abroad. Both the weekend and online course really set me up for my teaching experiences and thanks to TEFL, I have enjoyed every single minute of it!

I wanted to do a TEFL course for a while and chose the TEFL Academy based on a friends recommendation. I found the 120 hour course to be the most holistic course on offer, as there were also classroom experience included.

I was pleasantly surprised by how comprehensive the content was as I did not think the course would involve actual essays and lesson plan assignments. The course materials are very helpful and clearly outline what is expected of you, leading in well to the assignment. The feedback was always so quick and really helpful, I thought that it would just be a mark but you get genuine constructive criticism or praise which was amazing.

The classroom hours are a little rushed but I am still really happy I chose to do them as you get to experience presenting a lesson which helps you understand the course materials.

My only real criticism is the lack of description about how well the course will help you in becoming a ‘teacher’, many of the people I met in the classroom seemed to be there for very different reasons. As I have only done it to do on the side, I am happy with the course. However, if I did this course to become a teacher and as a change of career I would be pretty disappointed as I do no think a 120 hours prepare you well for a career as a TEFL teacher.

I really enjoyed my course with The TEFL Academy. The 20 hour practical course was fun and informative. The speaker used lots of different activities and facilities to help us understand what it would be like to be an EFL student as well as the teacher. The things we learnt in practise were definitely very valuable and have stuck with me since.

The online course was also very helpful, there were lots of resources for teaching that helped me both on the course and as a teacher now. I would definitely recommend The TEFL Academy to anyone planning to become a TEFL teacher.

I could not speak more highly of The TEFL Academy’s 120 hour TEFL course. This is a high calibre provider of TEFL training.

I took my course in Leeds and the 20 hour supervised classroom practice was engaging, instructive and of a high standard. Our instructor was well-spoken and knowledgeable and had a striking aptitude for teaching. I want to also mention that the lessons were fun and we all enjoyed ourselves very much.

A whole array of essential topics was covered during the 20 hour practical side of the course, giving us an overview of the most important aspects of TEFL. This prepared me for the more challenging online part of the course. I would suggest that students also buy the recommended coursebooks, as they proved invaluable resources for a better understanding of how to present work. One of them in particular (The TEFL Resource Pack) gives ample ideas for lesson fillers and activities.

I have learnt an astounding amount of information as the online course covers the topics of the 20 hour part in great depth. You certainly feel that with this provider you are getting a really good preparation towards being a competent and knowledgeable EFL teacher. I can’t stress enough how confident I now feel towards tackling my personal development as a teacher while teaching a variety of student levels and different student personalities.

I have never received feedback, post or communications in such record time as with this course provider. Feedback from tutors was always prompt and very useful.

If you put a good amount of work in and work with enthusiasm, you will certainly reap the benefits of it. I recently passed with a distinction!

I would definitely recommend this course!!!

The TEFL Academy offers a good, thorough 120 hour course with 20 hours of classroom-based study, which provided the grounding I needed to complete the subsequent work. Each assignment led to a deeper understanding of what it means to teach English as a Foreign Language. I spent many, more hours researching because I found it so interesting. Not being online at home was an extra challenge but it is not impossible with Internet access in libraries and cafes. The work gave me a fresh interest in current affairs with a new perspective when considering students to be taught. The feedback was very good. I am planning to teach here in England before going abroad, but I did already have some experience of TEFL. For anyone wanting a TEFL course, I would not hesitate to take up a course with the TEFL academy.

Having recently completed the 120 hour TEFL course, I am extremely satisfied by the course. It was quite difficult to complete alongside my final year of university as there was a lot more work to do than I initially expected. Originally, I thought the online course would be 100 hours of reading followed by multiple choice questions. Instead there were essays, lesson plans, resources and schemes of work I had to write and create. This really helped to consolidate my understanding of the material covered and assisted my development in terms of creating lesson plans.

I am currently working with Teach First this year to gain a PGCE so that I am fully qualified as a TEFL teacher, as well as a Secondary School Maths teacher. The content has really set me off to a great start in terms of my PGCE course. I feel a lot more confidence in terms of the knowledge required to teach well. The only thing I would point out mainly for improvement on this note, is that the face-to-face contact within the course perhaps could have included some more chances for us to teach. It was an excellent opportunity to share teaching practice and gain some feedback, but considering it was 20 hours of contact time, the amount of teaching time could perhaps be increased, with perhaps a greater emphasis on what good practice looks like.

All in all however, I have really enjoyed the course and have learnt way more than I thought I would from it. As a result of this, after my teacher training, I hope to either teach English in Dubai, China, Thailand or Spain for a couple of years.
