The course includes teaching “real” students from the second day, with intensive observation and forensic feedback. The course is hard work and involves a lot of hours in the evenings and at weekends – so clear your diary and forget your social life!

I have undertaken a lot of further and higher education courses in my career and can honestly say that I was extremely impressed with the course and the professionalism and dedication of the two tutors Sarah and Hannah.

Although it was intensive and a lot of work it was also very rewarding and a lot of fun!

My course tutors, Sarah and Hanna, provided excellent guidance, support and instruction throughout the course, working tirelessly to enable each and every one of us to learn, to practice and to achieve improvements and results, day after day. The learning on the course is managed and delivered with skill and precision. The tutors are clearly highly experienced. I would highly recommend the course to anyone thinking of going into EFL or needing the additional certificate to teach English as a foreign language.

They were there for us to address any issues – academic or personal – that we had encountered.

The course includes teaching real students, class observations, and introduction to technical aspects, such as grammar and phonemics. The tutors were very good: knowledgeable and friendly. The course though really is intense; be prepared to work hard and in the evenings and at weekends, and don’t commit to anything else for the four weeks – but it will be worth it in the end.

I did the 12 week part time course whilst working a full time job. I found the instruction, course materials and guidance to be consistently terrific. The instructors were incredibly accommodating, friendly and very experienced. I couldn’t reccomended CELTA at West London College highly enough.

Prepare your meals, focus on time management and prepare for a bumpy ride but I guarantee you that at the end it will all be worth it.

You will have the best teachers guiding you all the way through and giving you advice on what areas to improve on. So you are never alone.

You will meet amazing new people and work closely with amazing adult students.

Sarah and Hanna are very competent and they put a lot of effort in order to make you learn and assimilate the new techniques to be a good EFL teacher.

Their feedback is essential, and it helps us get better throughout the course

.

The full-time course is really intense, so be prepared to dedicate yourself to it.

However, it is very gratifying towards the forth week.

The students are lovely and they understand you are a training teacher.

My tips are: If you intend to take the full-time course:

– Do not work for 4 weeks;

– Have a quiet and calm place to prepare your lessons;

– FINISH YOUR TEACHING PRACTICE WITHIN THE TIME LIMIT!.

Thanks… Sarah & Hanna!

This course will change your perception of time and will surprise you with how much you can accomplish in 24 hours, let alone 4 weeks. It’s extremely intensive but well worth it.

Facilities were great but the canteen food is unsatisfying at best.

Advice I wish I’d had before starting the course:

– DO NOT work weekends!

– Get through the recommended readings before starting the course as you won’t have time during the CELTA.

– Get familiar with the terminology of grammar

Tutors were very helpful and I’m pretty shocked by how much I managed to learn in such a short time.

When they say it’s intesive, wow, do they mean it!

The second and third weeks (and weekends) are really intense. You MUST be organised and prepared.

Sarah Hall is an excellent teacher. She was absolutely meant for this role. She was always available to listen and to offer good advice. She is a good mentor and continues to send us information about job opportunities.

The facilities at this college aren’t great on the summer course. The library hours are limited, but we were warned about this before we enrolled. The course books are outdated which made lesson planning needlessly more difficult. You will need to use the photocopier on a daily basis. Unfortunately, our photocopier jammed, and broke down several times a day, which added to the overall stress of the course.

Withing weeks of completing the course, I found employment as an EFL tutor at a summer camp and am now also doing private tutoring.
