This is my 3rd Spanish immersion class. This was by far and away the best program. You are tested before starting class. I thought they did an appropriate job assessing my Spanish skills. I started with private lessons with 2 different teachers. The lesson plans mirrored each other and reinforced topics.

When I started my group class, I had 7 other students with me. It was so well organized and the content was solid. I highly recommend Máximo Nivel to anyone wanting to learn or improve their Spanish. I am a beginner and feel like I have advanced tremendously. Will definitely come back again to Guatemala.

I am so happy I found Maximo, and I’m even luckier I had Christina as my teacher. The amount of time and care I received from my teachers but the other faculty as well made me feel supported and prepared to begin teaching. The practical teaching I received and the feedback allowed me to see my improvements and also concentrate on what I needed to work on still. I’m very thankful for Christina, Sean and Maximo for giving me the tools to do something for years to come.

Overall, this TEFL course has been extremely influential in my self-efficacy. I believe that I could successfully teach English as a second language after taking this class. The practical teaching and employment of techniques learned in class has been very beneficial. I am thankful for Sean and Christina who helped me to succeed.

The importance of my tutor, Wayne, cannot be understated – he was excellent throughout the entire course and helped massively in getting us to the finish line. It is a very difficult program, but the benefits of the hard work become clear towards the end. Everyone involved was absolutely lovely and great to talk to. The structure of the course is also great, moving methodically through grammar, teaching experience, eliciting skills etc. Overall, although tough, it is very rewarding and taught almost flawlessly, so I would certainly recommend this program.

As an educator with many years of practical and academic experience in education, I highly recommend the Maximo Nivel TEFL program in Cusco, Peru. The course was rigorous and serious. But my classmates and I received a lot of support from the instructors, Sean and Christina. There was a good balance between seat work, where we learned the theory, and practical work (mini-lessons and classroom teaching) where we practiced what we had been taught. Besides the content, the program (and instructors) build a strong community among my classmates that added to the learning. I would recommend the program without qualification.

Sean (the TEFL instructor for Peru) is the best! He is a great instructor. If you are at all in doubt or not sure where to go, go to Cusco because Sean is there! Maximo staff are also very helpful, though I didn’t really have many problems.

In February 2025 Maximo-Nivel awarded me a TEFL certificate for a 150-hour TEFL program that included practical online teaching with local students in Latin America! First and foremost, the kind people of this organization and the students enlivened the whole process. Overall, the practicality, quality and caliber of the program exceeded my expectations. I am indebted to my trainer, Mr. Murphy, with his strong skill set and ability to personalize this entire TEFL training experience for me, using clarity, kindness and brilliance!

Indeed, I enjoyed the positive outcomes! I continue to look forward to working with students in language learning! Thank you to this organization and the students for this memorable, life-changing experience and enrichment!

What an excellent and enjoyable four weeks! My classmates were great, so was the instructor. I have been teaching for two decades but one never gets too old to learn. I have learned so many techniques and they are extremely effective in the classroom. The course allows TEFL students to do classes with live students. This I enjoyed very much. I could see whether the STT (student talk time) increased with each lesson.

The instructor was so funny but also very honest in his grading. I found it very helpful as I knew where to improve.

It was easy to walk from my homestay to the school. Cusco is a lovely city surrounded by various historic sites and of course, Machu Picchu which is a must to visit.
